Evaluating Designs

Evaluating Designs

This is bigger than a checkpoint [[evaluation]], but smaller than the final evaluation. Here, you should reflect on your overall design process.

Your evaluation here should explore:

  • Your analysis of existing designs and systems
  • Your research into users
  • Your critical, creative, and speculative thinking
  • Your exploration of ethics, particularly environmental, economic, and social
  • Your analysis and consideration of accessible and intuitive design
  • Your analysis of factors influencing your design
  • The parameters and outcomes of the tests you have designed
  • The analysis of designing for maintenance
  • The overall effectiveness of your system to solve your design problem.
  • Critical analysis of early sketches and plans
  • Results and analysis of any material or component testing
  • Your design brief

You should include all parts of the evaluation cycle, expecially exploring your understanding of your own designs.
